Public Speaking ROA

I might be using this to procrastinate a teensy bit, but oh well.

I want to make a record of my progress and experience with public speaking and delivering talks/lectures.

This will be from uni onward because high school me was a different person and I also can’t remember that far back.

I’m just gonna write a list for now:

2nd yr –

• Group research presentation (speaking approx 4mins) from flashcards
• Individual presentation 10mins about my dissertation from script

3rd yr –

• Birmingham History Day November 2017 talk 10mins from script
• Dissertation Poster Showcase talking one on one but presenting my ideas spontaneous speech with poster to guide
• History Research Advice Day talk 10mins spontaneous speech with powerpoint to guide
• Going to be speaking at BMAG manufactures event – 10mins spontaneous speech guided by objects

So that’s quite a lot of gradually increasing experience that I’m getting, and none of them have been terrible. I think I am improving in confidence and in presenting ideas clearly.

I am very proud of my spontaneous speech development and breaking away from reading from a script.
