friendly reminder this shark week that
– for every human killed by a shark 25 million sharks are killed by people
– when we swim we’re in THEIR habitat
– they don’t even like to eat us we’re too bony, when they do bite us they think we’re seals
– sharks have been around since prehistoric times and now they’re endangered animals because of us
-the media likes to portray sharks as deadly monsters bc they look scary but really we’re the ones killing them

“since prehistoric times” means sharks are older than trees. sharks have existed on this planet longer than trees have existed.

You know, early-show Taako is like… stupid.

Really stupid.

HELLA stupid.

Which is, in-universe, not at all surprising! Because Taako has to be second only to Davenport in terms of how much damage Lucretia did to him.

Davenport forgot his life because the mission was his life. But Taako – who was already down to having six people in the entire universe whom he dared to care about because all the others were dust – Taako didn’t forget his life, but he forgot everything that had ever mattered. Lucretia carved out his heart and left nothing but: Taako – from TV!

If in the early arcs he ever seems like a shallow parody of a person, it’s only because he is a shallow parody of a person.

Anyway I’m pretty upset about this stupid wizard.

I can’t stop thinking about Taako being, um. Davenported on an emotional level. He was never great at giving a shit, but there was Lup, always. Lup and then the others. And afterwards he’s left not caring about anyone, not able to remember what the point of caring about anyone is. ‘Everyone should love you!’ says Lucretia, condemning him to a decade of near-sociopathic disconnect.

And the level of psychological damage this causes also doing serious damage to his ability to think at all tips it over into horrific for me. He can’t think and he can’t feel. He’s got nothing. He’s got no power to ever change that, having nothing.

Lucretia took everything from him.
