im not kidding here but sherlock needs to be super explicit if anything needs to happen becos john is a dumbass and is scared of assuming things about sherlock’s emotions but the same goes for sherlock too so as poetic as they can be if it doesn’t end with ‘john/sherlock i am IN LOVE with you’ or like they just jump into the smooching bit they both be just standing there blinking at each other for the rest of our goddamn lives.

If we’re getting reichenbach parallels, it might just be that John is having to destroy Sherlock by going along with Mary/Moriarty’s plans in order to keep him safe in the long run.

Exactly. It’s hugely important that we don’t always see things from John’s pov anymore. It means he can hide things from Sherlock and so also us the viewers. And we know John is pretty damn smart.
