Musical prodigy Alma Deutscher aged 11 (seen here with younger sister Helen), is staging her first full-length opera, Cinderella.
Composer, pianist, violinist… Alma learned to read music before she could read words. She began playing the piano aged two and at four years old she was composing her own music.
“The great thing for Kara with Lena is Lena is almost Kara’s humanity. She doesn’t have to be Supergirl. She can be human, and she can be vulnerable, frail and weak and needy. If Lena knew Kara was Supergirl, she couldn’t be that any more. That’s so poignant this season because this year opened with Kara not wanting to be human any more. She’s like, “I am Supergirl.” With regards to Lena, her relationship with Kara is the same type of thing. It’s where she can be vulnerable. Lena is not this CEO, this powerful woman. She’s not running all these companies. The great part of the friendship the two of them have, is it allows them to be vulnerable, to say, “I need this, and I need this from you.” For me, from my friends, that’s the best part. I can go to them and say, “Things suck. Help.” There’s very few people that you can do that with. For Lena, it’s Kara. For Kara, it’s Lena, too.”
One time I worked as a personal assistant for this rich dude. He was pretty ok for like. A dude w more money than I can rlly comprehend? Anyways a part of his assets was this grain processing plant; idk what they actually did I just ran errands for the dude n made sure he wasn’t bothered from big money decisions basically. Glorified coffee bitch? Anyways we’re working one day and the workers catch this random lady like??? Taking bags of whatever the hell they kept in the plant. We’re getting ready to call the cops, I’m getting anxious, and the boss…….. tells them to let her go. He tells her she’s allowed to take only what she can carry in her own arms. So she scrambled off with the bag of wheat or corn or whatever ???? And the crews super confused and the boss goes “do not stop her from getting what she can carry” & so that happens again like once a week for the next few months. I find out she’s actually an immigrant and a widow? Living with her dead husbands mom. She’s been stealing to feed her mom in law. Anyways eventually one day she like. Approached my boss. In his office.
And like a month later I was given an invitation to their wedding it was extremely fucked up my boss married a lady who was a wheat thief
tbh queer romance is held to a much higher standard than het romance like a man can cry over another man, be close to another man, protect another man repeatedly, give up everything for another man, and there will still be people saying that a romantic interpretation is “completely baseless” and “it’s great that platonic love can be so strong” and “don’t erase friendship, i’d do all that for my friends!”
but then a man and a woman share a pencil and suddenly romance is alive
